3 top tips when starting your dance training

Hi this is Sander (but you can call me Sand) from Sg2 (Stogap’s training company) coming through your screen with my 3 top tips for when you are starting  dance training. Hopefully some of these tips will help you show those qualities that you have got. Here we go!

Be stubborn
Don’t give up. It might take some time to get where you want to be but with a bit of stubbornness you’ll get further. If there is no clear path towards what you want you can create your own path. If you can’t find the right thing for you try training with online videos or dance classes you can find.

Be curious
Being convinced you can do it won’t necessarily make you grow as a dancer, therefore it’s very important to be curious and find out new things about the dance style, about your body, about projects. You might not like everything you find but it’s also important to know what you dislike.

Be you
No need to become a whole new person, just be you. As easy as this may sound it is often what we forget about first. No need to try and be someone you are not, you will be so much better at being you and expanding on your qualities to be the best you can be. Yes, it is good to get out of your comfort zone but stay true to you. It’s okay to say no.

I hope these tips can help you a bit further, there are lots of things that might work for you that doesn’t work for other or vice versa. A bonus tip is to look further than what you’ve got, even if you are finally in a dance training it’s important to look out for other opportunities.

Happy Dancing!
