Vacancy: General Manager

Stopgap Dance Company is seeking a General Manager to join our team 

Stopgap Dance Company creates inclusive productions with exceptional disabled and non-disabled dancers for national and international touring. Led by Artistic Director Lucy Bennett, the company receives core NPO funding from Arts Council England to devise and tour original dance productions, and the recent increase in NPO funding from financial year 2018/19 will enable the company to reinstate its trainee programme Sg2 to nurture the next generation of disabled dancers in UK. In order to manage the increased workload, the company is seeking a General Manager to support the management of the company. In the immediate future, the General Manager will also support The Executive Producer in completing the final draft of the business plan for the next 4 years of Arts Council England funding period.

Stopgap Dance Company is particularly keen to receive applications from people who consider themselves to be in minority groups or be in disadvantaged circumstances. In order for the company to support underrepresented groups and individuals in the sector, the panel will look to offer an interview for those who identify as such and demonstrate how they can meet or grow to meet the essential criteria. The company will also consider providing financial assistance to travel to the interview in specific circumstances.

Salary: £28,000-£30,000 depending on experience for full-time work at 37.5 hours a week. Candidates may apply for this role as part-time (approximately 22.5 hours/3 days a week) with flexible working hours provided that s/he is committed delivering on the essential duties and responsibilities as listed below. This may be particularly attractive to those with dependents or other commitments.

Hours: Weekdays, flexible. Evening and weekend work may be required from time to time. Stopgap Dance Company operates a Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) system

Contract: Fixed Term contract until 1st April 2020
